DeckWise Ipe Seal Hardwood End Grain Sealant for Fresh Cut Board Ends or Turning Blanks (16-oz.)

Ipe Seal® from DeckWise® is a wax emulsion sealer proven to increase the structural integrity of hardwood decking. Designed to prevent end checking (drying splits) in freshly sawn logs, lumber, turning blanks, and other exposed wood end and face grain. Ipe Seal® creates a bond that extends the life of each deck board. 16 oz. container comes with a handy brush lid for easy application. 16oz. of end sealer covers approximately 250 ft² (23 m²) of decking. It is highly recommended that end grain cuts are protected in order to prevent checks and splits. Due to differences in wood species, variety of climatic conditions, and an individual's usage methods; results are NOT guaranteed. The sooner our sealer is applied to exposed end grain (and face grain of turnings and carvings), the more effective the coating will be. The application is recommended to cover the wood within 24 hours of cutting. Our End Sealer may cause color or shading changes in wood, depending on species, dryness, handling or other natural variables. Test on ends of sample piece(s) and let stand for 48 hours if this possibility is of concern. See label for specific cautionary first aid instructions. NOTE: Brush lid is not yet sold separately.
