tl;dr - these speakers punch way above their weight I needed to replace a blown speaker but didn't want to spend a lot because they're being used in the basement. A Google search led me to YouTube which led me to these speakers that had great reviews. Another Google search led me to Walmart, which had the best price and quickest delivery, so I purchased them The speakers were well packed in the box from Dayton - not a scratch on them I like the retro look of the wood cabinets with the light grey speaker covers (similar to how speakers looked back in the 60s). They pretty light and fit almost anywhere. While they sound great out of the box (smooth and steady - decent soundstage, honest but not overbearing bass), they're sounding better as I break them in (40 hours of various types of music) These speakers work best in a small to medium room (though they sound great in the basement). Though I guess they can be used for home theater, I think they're best for stereo music as they have an actual crossover. I'm using them for classic rock, classical, a capella, and pop music. Not sure how they'd do with heavy metal, rap, EDM or other bass-heavy music
