The description lists a flip top which leads buyer to mistake this as a flip off top like most travel drinkware has. This travel mug has a screw on top. It ha a flip "plug" to seal mug which is real good for a change. I have severe arthritis in my hands and the pull off flip tops ae too hard for me to manage. This screw on lip is perfect. One side has the plug to seal and when you flip the plug, the other side has an opening for a straw {2 kinds of metal straws
