Miracle-Gro LiquaFeed Universal Feeder Starter Kit

I've attached this to my drip system just before the shut off timer and it's worked fine for 3 months. But the other day I found it broken and spewing out water from the inlet. After removing it from the system I found the inlet broken. I expect the water pressure from being constantly under pressure and the joggling it endures when dispensing the plant food (it happened while I had it in "FEED" mode) combined to eventually crack the plastic housing. It would be nice if Miracle Grow would make a unit with brass fittings instead of plastic. Until then I'd recommend placing the unit on the outlet side of any shut off timer to keep the water pressure at zero when off.

I have had to purchase a new dispenser every year for the last three years. They start out working fine and then they start to leak halfway through the season. I have my dispenser hooked up to a faucet with a timer that never changes pressure. They just don't last. Once it starts to leak the only way to stop it is to turn the faucet off completely, and only use the dispenser in the feed mode. When I try to return the product I am told that because it was purchased the year before, they wont replace it. So I end up having to purchase a new one. I think that these dispensers are designed to fail after a period of time so they can get you to buy a new one.
