Sony ICF-P27 Portable Radio with Speaker and AM/FM Tuner

Actually I bought this battery portable radio as an emergency if we were to have an earthquake or lost electricity! But I am using it right now because it is small, sounds good and fits anywhere even in my pockets while I cook, do the dishes or water the plants.

This AM/FM pocket radio with FM antenna and wrist strap is definitely a throwback from the past. This radio is definitely part of the Luddites' starter kit. Reception on strong stations is excellent, but is prone to any interference on the AM band, just like any other unfiltered AM radio. FM reception is excellent on strong stations too, but be careful with the antenna, it only unfolds one way. It's not the most sensitive radio, so I wouldn't use it for DXing. The stations are pretty crammed together, but if you ever got a Walkman from your folks in the 80s, then you already know what that's like. It's not waterproof, so don't take it with you into the shower. The headphone jack is monaural, but will take a stereo plug, but not the newer 4 contact ones and, surprisingly, it *does not* come with a belt clip. So, if you want to feel old fashioned, here's a good start.
