Igniter Button - Flavorizer bars.

The flavorizer bars work great. is it normal for them to rust out in about 3 years? My grill apparently uses a diffferent igniter than the one shown and which I mistakenly ordered. Customer service has been working on getting me the correct igniter button which is apparently out of stock right now. Customer aervice has been very helpful.
