After 20 years with these door knobs, someone got stuck in the bathroom because the door knob would not turn. It took 45 minutes and removal of the door knob to get the door open. The problem was a broken latch bolt. A month later the same thing happened with a bedroom door. My husband replaced all seven door knobs, again with Kwikset. BIG mistake! In less than two years, children got stuck in a second floor bedroom and my husband had to enter through the window with tools to remove the door knob. This rarely used door was probably closed and opened a total of 10 times in that two year period. Anyone not handy with tools will have a MAJOR problem if a Kwikset door knob fails with someone inside the room.

Not the Same as prior versions
Purchased this one to replace the worn knob (25+ years old) for our bathroom and to match the other knobs, that are a few years old, in the house. It was not the same size (offset by 1/4"), the instructions do not match the product, and the quality of the new knob is NO WHERE near the robust material of the original knob. Do not buy this product.
