Crooked Bend Mema's Moo Mix farm pasture seed blend contains premium alfalfa, high-quality hatemate orchard grass, top-rated Timothy grass, extreme graze-tolerant rye & elite Kentucky bluegrass. This recipe has been hand down by our Great Mema, Lucy Magillacuddy who grew up in the hills of southern Tennessee, was a daughter of a renowned beef cattle farmer & triple-crown master equestrian producer. Lucy sprouted into a real animal, garden & nature lover. After graduating from a northern university with degrees in agriculture & microbiology, Mema returned back home to take over the family farm & in short time had two horses running in the Kentucky derby & received over a dozen national poultry awards for innovation with her red hens extra large white eggs production. Lucy used the same seeds in which she was growing for her chicken runs & livestock pastures to fix patches in her yards & kids playground yard. It was during this time in which Mema Lucy branded her signature pasture seed super blend now known as Mema’s Moo Mix. The drought & high traffic resistant field forage grow tall, fast, big, sweet & full plant forage. Foliage & micro fodder are loved by cow, horses, pigs, sheep, bison, whitetail deer, lambs, chickens, elk, pheasants & turkeys. Seeds in this blend will quickly germinate in rock, sand, clay soil type. Grass perennials grow best in partial shade to full sun light. Sow seed in the early spring, late summer or fall using no till planting techniques or via traditional farming methods with disc, plow, harrow drag, pull behind planter, spreaders, atv accessories & heavy tractor equipment. Sow seed when good constant rain is forecasted & cover with straw or light mulch to protect from birds until roots are fully established. Annual overseeding fill open dirt beds or overseed with Last Resort Blend. 25 pound bag plants 0.25 of a acre via broadcast seeder & 0.5 of an acre via seed drilling.
