My 11 yr. old son isn't fully sold on these blades yet. Even though they are adjustable, which was the main reason I purchased them, it's difficult to figure out what size they are when you turn the nob. They do fit better on the ankle and top of the foot than traditional blades that have the clasps. They also look "cool." The only other issue is my son is somewhat a beginner on blades, but not on quads, and the fact that these blades don't have a break make it a little more difficult to learn how to stop. He is very hesitant to wear them at the indoor skating rinks where lots of kids are skating on the floor at the same time as him. My recommendation is that this style of blade is not for beginners bc they don't have brakes, but for a growing feet they give you a great option.
