This item works well so far. It has four different fans settings the UV light does seem to work as far as I can tell the unit light itself works and can be turned on and off. The nice thing about the force fan settings is that the lowest is very quiet where it would be okay in an office setting and even the middle settings are still quite quiet. it gets louder on what they call turbo mode. This is the best smaller air purifier I have used and is great for a room up to maybe 300 square feet or so is my guess. Keep in mind when purchasing air purifiers that each company seems to make up their own standards of how many air exchanges per hour (the most important part) are needed for any specific area. So after purchasing a number of different brands of air purifiers and having problems with some of them this seems like one of the best so far. A shopping tip is to decide how many air exchanges per hour that you want, beforehand, and then do the calculation based on the square footage. I have found that more air exchanges per hour makes a huge difference regardless of what brand or size of unit is used. I would be remiss to not mention that air purifiers are a very difficult item to purchase and find a good one, especially for people with allergies who need HEPA filtration. It is sort of like buying a mattress or a car, there's pros and cons to each unit and this is among the best smaller units that I have used so far. Would recommend for bathrooms or small bedrooms.
