Mobil has a long history and excellent reputation of making synthetic oils. Their marketing is second to none and always professional and focused on real world testing and performance. There will be some that think the price is too high. You generally get what you pay for with motor oil and Mobil is giving you a premium product that not only is good for 20k miles or one year, but also meets the latest specifications, and is good for DI engines. With a lower sulfated ash level, it's also good for LSPI.(low speed pre-ignition problems). For those that think the price is too high, you always have the option of using regular Mobil 1 or Mobil 1 Extended Performance. There are boutique oils offering longer drains and unsubstantiated performance claims, and those oils are often using dated additive technology. This is where Mobil 1 AP stands apart.
