Didn't come with the Large Book

It's a great machine. Noisy of course, but when you consider what it's chopping, it's great. You also have to stand there and hold it down. There's no "on" button. I was a bit disappointed they did not include the 8 1/2 X11 book of recipes and ideas. That was a Boomer.

Works Great!

I bought this because it was on sale right around New Years and I had wanted one. It does a pretty good job but didn't chop hard things like carrots to the consistency of a juicer. My brother told me to add ice with the hard vegs and it will pulverize them and it sure did. It did a fine job for a small blender. I make smoothies no problem and now that I know to add ice to harder stuff, I'm sure I'll have no problem. I make homemade tomato sauce twice a week with it and it is the best sauce ever. Can't wait to can some in the summer when tomatoes are in season. I recently made a sort of "ice cream" in this blender and it came out great. I used half and half instead of cream but it was just fine. Use a lot of ice to get it to freeze semi hard then put in freezer for the finish.

Nutri-Ninja-Better value than competition

I did a lot of research about Nutri Ninja vs. Nutribullet equivalent. I decided on this Ninja and I'm glad I did. The unit is stable and the blade beats the Bullet hands down. Positives: it does what it says it will do. I like having some manual control unlike the overpriced and totally out of control Nutribullet Rx. Simple is better in the long-run. *great job with shakes made with almond milk, coconut milk, or skim milk. *decent job of making a shake made with powders. I shake before I blend. *good job of pulverizing fresh fruit but I still cut up in smaller pieces. *good job with carrots, celery, etc. but I still cut up in smaller pieces. *okay job with pulverizing nuts & seeds; all nutri-units seem to have a similar issue with pulverizing seeds. It does ok but I still have to shake up my shake before drinking because seeds & nuts settle to the bottom very quickly. *awesome for homemade salsa or tomato sauce because YOU control how chunky you want your sauce. *awesome for mashing bananas for banana bread (would work well for baby food too) *space-efficient on the counter and blends well with other small appliances. *more cost-effective than Nutri-Bullet because it's 900 not 600. Negatives: *pay attention to the max line. Even if you fill it to the max line, it will have a tendency to leak. So I fill below the line. *a bit loud. *wish it came with more cup sizes *snap-top on drink lid does NOT securely snap shut....so be careful of spills Shipping: very quick & efficient. Cost: Walmart's price is extremely competitive and hard to beat. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase. So much hype goes with the competition but it all boils down to personal preference. I think anyone would be happy with the Ninja for its value and its quality.
