Great Portable Fridge

This fridge has been great. I haven't had any issues with cooling. Use Econo mode as much as possible to save power. I thought I had a problem with the fridge resetting all the time to 32 degrees but it turned out to be a loose wire at the battery connector. Use tape to make sure car vibrations do not loosen up your screws. (Gorilla Tape)

Excellent and Efficient Camp Cooler

The Costway electric refrigerator/freezer is amazingly efficient. I tested it in a 70 degree room for two days with a setting of 38 degrees. It used about 12 watts of electricity per hour! That is less than 1/2 of what my RV 14 inch LED TV uses per hour. I am using the Costway refrigerator in my camp trailer and powering it with a single 100 watt solar cell and 50 amp/hour 12 volt battery. I also use the solar cell/battery for LED lights, charging my computer, cell phone and toothbrush as well as my TV. The inside of the chest is spacious and equivalent to a 72 quart traditional ice chest. No ice needed here so 52 quarts holds a lot of food and drinks. The lid seals tightly and easily opens via a click latch. The chest is easy to carry and runs off of 12 volt DC or 110 volt AC. The fans and compressor are quiet. I should have it for years and will save a lot of money by not having to buy ice. I can also camp in more remote locations since I do not need to be close to a place that sells ice.

Works great except....

It works very nicely, just as advertised. However I do have 2 issues; 1.) When left in the vehicle overnight, I get an ER1 error code indicating low battery and the fridge stops working. This occurs even though I have the battery sensitivity switch in the lowest setting and new dual batteries in my pickup. 2.) I left the fridge in my pickup on a very hot day. The sun shinning on it caused the lid to warp and it no longer closes. I find no customer support from the company and no replacement parts. If you have a problem, consider it a disposable item.
