shade on my hurricane lamp broke. It was cheaper to buy this whole lamp than to purchase the glass globe separately . I keep these oil lamps around in case of a power outage. It's easier to light one of these lamps than to find out the battery has gone dead on battery operated lamps. This lamp looks decorative sitting out on a shelf with a lighter kept close by so I know where it is at all times if power goes out during the night.

This is an elegant lamp is good for blackouts, camping (would not recommend for uneven surfaces), and for evenings on the porch. Easy to fill, light, and extinguish the flame. The hurricane glass is easy to remove to wash (recommend to let glass cool off prior to handling and washing). To decrease soot on the hurricane glass, lower the wick. Excellent price compared to expensive batter operated lanterns. Cons: It's glass and easily broken if care is not taken. Looking to purchase 3 more.
