Tasty Tips and Twists: **Stir 1/2 tsp. Extract per egg into egg mixture for eggnog French toast. **Make Rum Raisin Oatmeal by stirring raisins and 1/4 tsp. Great extract
I believe the flavor is spot on if you don't want to use actual rum in your baking items or sauces. To test out this rum extract I made a sauce to put on ice cream and the flavor was spot on. I would recommend this to anyone looking to make sauces with a hint of rum

Great Substitute for Rum to keep on hand
Our household doesn't drink alcohol so I tend to skip recipes that call for alcohol to avoid waste. I do like rum flavored things though and hoped this might be an easy way to get the taste I enjoy without the waste. The rum extract does smell quite strong. I added 2 tsp to some muffin batter. I felt the flavor in the muffins was subtle - not over powering, just a hint of rum. I also stirred an bit into some pudding I made which gave it a nice subtle rum taste as well. I have a few more recipes I hope to try this extract in and I plan to adjust my amounts accordingly if I want a stronger rum flavor. I feel like this is a great option for people who don't wish to buy a bottle of rum but still want to occasionally have something with rum flavor. I did receive this bottle of extract for free in exchange for my honest review.

Another quality McCormick product
McCormick is a staple in our household for baking needs. We really appreciate their consistent quality and flavorful extracts. The rum extract brings a bold, warm flavor that is wonderful for holiday baking. I really like the larger size offering as we do a lot of baking. Would definitely repurchase and highly recommend.
