We installed 2 of these in wooden doors. Comes with a template, we carefully cut out, lined up and traced the template before we cut the door with a drill bit that creates holes for things like door knobs and then used a saber saw for the straight lines. I love that these are clear and they have locks that can be adjusted to allow access on either side. Highly recommend this product. We are using ours for our much loved 12 pound cat and we bought the large size.
