Hisense 5.1 Channel Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer (AX5100G)-Black

the sound bar sound nice (ive never owned one to compare it to though) theres little to no sound coming from the sub or the satalight speakers and they were the main reason I bought it. (That and the eARK connection) The instructions arnt great in explaining things. for the money and what else is on the market, im keeping it because the sound bar sounds better than my TV. (im trying to give as honest of a review as I can).. ive played with the settings and cant get the sub or satalight speakers (sitting maybe 2' from me) to get loud enough to hear them without putting them up to my ear.

I was expecting great things from this sound bar. I have had 2 Hisense televisions with the latest being a 4K ULED 55", I absolutely love it. I was running a comparably priced soundbar from a top of the line competitor, it has a sync problem with an ARC connection so was using a digital optical connection to clear up the lag. It sounded great with Amazing Chanel separation and clairity also the ability to control the sound from each speaker. But now I can't control the bar with my TV remote. So I ordered the Hisense 5.1 soundbar. Well, the Hisense sound system sounds alright, but not nearly as good. There is very little control over rear surround speakers with no control at all over left and right balance... Front or back! With the rear speakers up to the max of 5 they can barely be heard with little to no discrete sounds at all, it sounds more simulated sound than anything else. The subwoofer is sometimes too powerful with no way to control its volume. Because of this, the sounds coming from the main bar sounds thin and tinny in comparison. I fiddled with the controls for 2 days and discovered that if I turned the surround OFF the quality of the sound improved greatly, however, that isn't what I bought a 5.1 surround sound system for! The last thing I tried also helped, but didn't make it as perfect as I want it to be. I turned off the Bass Boost and it seemed to balance the sound so the highs and midrange didn't sound so tinny. The manual is not very detailed and doesn't explain lot of the controls and setting, what they are for and what they do. I had the same complaint with the manuals for the Hisense TVs. I'm not real happy with this purchase. considering how happy I am with the Hisense Televisions. I guess if you've never had a decent 5.1 surround bar system it may sound pretty good. However, you aren't goung to hear things move around the room, or come from behind or beside you with this one. It's all in front of you, even with 2 rear speakers that you'll rarely know are even there. If anyone has any suggestions on how to make this a better listening experience I'd love to hear them. At this point I'd say forget this and stick with the Hisense televisions, they are a lot of bang for your buck. The sound bar, not so much!
