It's strong and sturdy enough to keep my 80 lb Pitbull from easily going through it. I am aware he could go over it . There has been other child gates I have used in the past that he, without effort, would just move them out of his way. This one is more of a challenge so he doesn't bother with it. Lol

Good looking, sturdy metal baby gate. Took a minute to install because I wanted the hinges mounted to the kitchen wall (we use the gate to keep the dogs out of the kitchen at times). They supply long wood screws to mount to the wall stud or banister post, but if you don't have a wall stud you will need some drywall anchors good for 10 lbs. This gate doesn't weigh nearly that much but with upper and lower hinges (2 screws in each hinge) you won't have to worry about the weight. For those who notice the upper gate latch is missing, good eye. I left it off because of the wood trim under the counter. Our dogs are small and the missing upper latch doesn't matter since the whole idea was just to put up a barrier to keep curious doggies out until we get done fixing supper, putting groceries away, etc. etc. etc.
