Helped my Dark Green Pool!!

My pool has roughly 2500 gallons of water. There was a week of heavy raining plus I had neglected the pool a week before out of ignorance. This is my first pool. After the rain my pool went DARK GREEN. I researched and added a bag of Clorox shock and nothing I added one bag of hth shock and nothing I then bought the six pack of shock and at night I mixed in THREE BAGS the next morning it was light green!! To be sure I mixed in the next 3 bags and it was fully cleared up by midday. Please note - every time I added the chemicals I pre dissolved the shock in a small bucket for fear of ruining my pool liner. Hope this helps someone because it definitely helped me.
