Failed after 1 week

I replaced this same zone valve last winter (leaked). The new one lasted 1 year before it began sticking open which causes the heat to stay on no matter what the thermostat requests. I replaced it and the new one lasted exactly 1 week before it failed too. This time it sticks closed so you get no heat unless you manually start to rotate it. Once you start to rotate it, it will continue moving on its own. I'm not going to keep buying them. I contacted the manufacturer and they said there is only a warranty if installed my a contractor.
