The drum is well made, none of the items are to loud I bought it for my 15 month old grandson he enjoys taking everything out of it and then cleaning it all up again. I'm not wild about the castanets they look like they won't last long but the other items which seem more like rattles will last. I figure eventually he'll play with it to make music either way he loves it.
