Bemis Commercial Heavy-Duty Plastic Toilet Seat White

I've been on the hunt for a seat that is of high enough quality that it should last the rest of my life. We've been through 3 seats in as many years, and I was fed up! After much research, reading reviews, and careful thought, I purchased this Bemis toilet seat. I am a large woman, and we have an even larger friend, so I wanted a seat rated for 300 lbs with molded seat bumpers that are made/molded as one with the seat and wouldn't be crushed after a few uses. I was also looking for seats that have metal screws and nuts. This seat has metal screws but plastic nuts. Despite the plastic, the install was so easy I did it myself! The hinges come unassembled, but all you need to do is slide the smooth barrel into the seat and set it into the holes on the toilet. Tightening the nuts by hand was super easy, no tools required! I had my husband double-check my work, and he said the installation was perfect. I will say it's still new enough that it looks weird when I walk into the bathroom, and there's no lid on the toilet. But let's be honest, the use of the lid is likely very rare for most people. Plus, with no lid to close, there's no lid to slam!
