This is a high bar for turn based JRPGs, must play

I haven't played a game in the franchise before but this one exceeded any expectation I had. The story is a betrayed former Yakuza trying to find out why. The battles are zany JRPG style turn based combat complete with funny job classes. There's so many references to classic RPGs with a modern setting, this game was able to give me something I didn't know I needed in gaming.

JRPG to the max!

Yakuza is a long running series known for having a mixture of absurd comedy and serious story telling. The new entry is no different aside from the game play style. The game plays like a classic turn based RPG making tons of reference to the classic Dragon Quest JRPG games.

Great game, a lot of fun.

I like this game even more than I like previous Yakuza Titles, I consider this installment closer to the game "judgment" that was released last year. It is closer to Judgement that previous Yakuza titles in my opinion. Keep in mind though that this title does not have free running and fighting - it uses a Turn based fighting system like PERSONA 5, and the old skool style RPG's
