Panasonic Rp-hf100m-k Panasonic Lightweight On-ear Headphones With Microphone (black)

I decided to buy an inexpensive set of headphones with a microphone, just in case I want to do Skype or phone calls too. I use these with a Laptop or Tablet while in a more public environment. I can watch online video and not disturb other people, since there isn't as much sound emitted outside the cups. There is some, but less than the cheaply constructed open air type. Sound Quality is decent enough for a set in this price range. A knock off brand might have saved a few dollars, but it's a crap shoot. Go with what you know. Previous purchases of Panasonic headphones have been mostly satisfactory. I have a pretty sensitive ear and these are clearly in the "Good Enough" category. The range and response is adequate and better than expected for the price. I was a little surprised that the Bass response wasn't all too bad. Highs were also decent. Midranges were also pretty good without too much "Mud" from crappy Bass and Mids combined. Just not good enough to be in the "Audiophiles" class. I double checked the price after trying these on my laptop and was satisfied with the value for the money. The construction isn't the most sturdy headphones ever made, but with a little care, they should last for a bit. Quite frankly, I don't need the folding option. I can see a potential for breakage with the lightweight foldable construction. The fit is pretty comfortable for me and I had no real issues with them as far as adjustment and staying put is concerned. Now for the reason for Four Stars and NOT Five. The Most annoying thing is the lack of decent cord length. It's about three and a half feet long and just needs another foot or two. I have to use a short extension more often than not. I have a Larger Panasonic set with a cord about six feet long. That length can work well enough at about six feet, but NOT something under four feet being used with a laptop or tablet. Forget them for a desktop or tower without an extension. A quality extension can cost as much as half of what the headphones cost. Why do I need to buy that extra two feet that should be a standard feature for this type of headphone? Thus the Four Stars.
