Excellent picture and great features...

Our 65" LG w/3D is 2-1/2 years old now, with no issues of any kind. Excellent picture, great features ...just beautiful. We couldn't believe our eyes when streaming and features became even better after we upgraded our home's Router / WiFi ...FANTASTIC! Our 1st LG w/3D lasted over 10-years! Price and Quality... We have always received the best from our LG products. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Impressive TV - upscaling, 3D, 4K

Purchased the LG 65 UH8500 the week it came out. I did a lot of research on 4K TV's and the HDR technology prior to purchasing. I also read a few review's and watched CES videos. It seemed impressive and I couldn't see spending the money on my first choice the OLED. So I took a chance and purchased without viewing in store (they can be misleading anyway). The picture, colors, blacks, 1080 upscaling, 4K, 3D all exceeded my expectations. The TV looks sleek and high quality. The picture from just a standard Blu Ray and Apple TV is incredible, in fact we started purchasing 3D movies again, because of how good they look on Blu Ray and with passive glasses! Streamed some Netflix Ultra HD, Beautiful!! I am looking forward to more UHD content available, haven't seem much yet. But for now the great upscaling will suffice. As others mentioned, the programed picture settings may need some playing with to fit taste and environment. I watch TV almost always at night in a dark room so I prefer a tweaked Expert Dark Room setting with a White Balance set at medium and LED Dimming high. Play with dynamic contrast as well. Maybe future updates will have additional settings. There is a Smart Picture setting that for some reason is not available for selecting. Whats cool is that the TV will save settings based on the device. Note your devices need to have HDMI HDCP 2.2 connections for best quality and HDR. Enjoy! A powerhouse Gaming TV.

Be VERY CAREFUL with the screen as it is not protected in the edges. It is a LED Edge lit IPS screen, so it is prone to backlight bleeding. I recommend not putting any pressure unless it's the back and follow the instructions in the instructions booklet. The picture quality is absolutely breathtaking when running a genuine 1080p & 4K signal. The webOS built in isn't revolutionary, but adequately gets the job done. Netflix & Amazon Originals look good, even though Netflix signal outputs are stronger & do render much better. This television and gaming systems (PS4 Pro & Xbox One S) were made for each other. TC's Ghost Recon Wildlands, Horizon Zero Dawn & Forza Horizon 3 look so ridiculous, you won't want to blink. The input lag is virtually nonexistent & the colors HDR bring to the table are game changers, no pun intended. The HDR can be "cartoony" with some signals, but luckily you are given the opportunity to change from 10 bit to 8 bit panel color gamut under HDR settings if necessary. The settings on color, contrast and black levels will need tweaking as well but once it is dialed in, you are in for a visual journey. Using the Magic Remote Controller to do everything you need is an absolute revelation in my opinion, I can never not use one now. Just like you can never "unsee" 4K in a 65" TV. It's an impossibility to go back or should I say downgrade. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
