the carb is not an oem replacement for the troybilt tb240 mower my old carb had a large plastic valve for a tube attached to the rear assembly that regulate a second fuel air intake for this model. since i could not remove it from old one and new one would not work without it i tossed the carb with the mower and got a new one. im sure its fine for other models just not the 240

This marketplace does not specify how to verify the correct part no for the version of mower I am fixing. Honda did not make it easy to research either with their 222 page engine manual. Bad marketing! The serial no and version code that follows the serial number, on the side of the Honda engine, tells the version of carb to get. There were two versions for my mower. Stupid issue to have. Nobody in this marketplace in the US sells the part I needed. I had to go to Amazon to purchase the one I needed. Bummer!
