Philip Seymour Hoffman, Brilliant Acting

Philip Seymour Hoffman portrayed author Truman Capote's four year research into the minds of two killers of a Kansas farm family in 1959. The movie is about Capote's techniques and how the experience affected him. Hoffman's portrayal of Capote's distinctive character was splendid. I came away thinking that Capote was troubled by the method he used to extract information from the killers (mostly one individual). Did the means justify the fame and fortune bestowed upon Capote? We will never know. Capote never finished another book.
