A complete waste of money

Study Bible? This bible has page after page of footnotes that do nothing but restate what the Scripture verses say. The note for Genesis 2:17-20 even denigrates Abraham and speculates about what Abraham may have been thinking, wishing for a new wife?!? Not only is there no background information about language, culture, customs, or geography in the footnotes, they even contain modern day politically correct statements like "Conspicuous throughout this event is Sarai's silence. Does she approve? Does she oppose? Does she submit silently? Will she sacrifice her life for Abram?" What? Was the writer afraid women would have a pink hat rally outside his home if he allowed the Scriptures to portray women of the Bronze Age as silent and obedient? What a waste of space the millions of words of notes are, making the actual Bible text so small it's painful to read.
