Great Suet For Attracting Birds

This is my go-to suet for attracting a variety of birds in my yard. The woodpeckers seem to really like these. I would suggest that if you live somewhere warm that you store them in the freezer to prevent unwanted melting. Due to the climate in my area, I only store in the freezer in the summer. Be weary that squirrels are also attracted to this suet as well. If you have your feeder on a shepherd's hook, I would suggest using petroleum jelly on the pole to prevent squirrels from reaching the suet. Also attracts many other bird species to my yard such as blue jays and cardinals.

Birds love it.

The birds that usually eat this around our house are woodpeckers, cardinals and blue jays. The squirrels also love it. For the winter it is a great food to help the birds. I usually have two side by side and one in a tree hanging plus a few nut and fruit feeders.
