Model 509 Fan: QUIET & EFFICIENT

Electrician just installed a Model 509 fan, replacing an existing Homart 10" fan we've had since the last 1960s. MUCH quieter and more efficient than the old one! Fan is installed approx. 10 feet above the kitchen floor (high tin ceilings) in a 225 sq ft room. We have a solid, wood frame home built in 1923 that muffles the sound. I suspect that many of the noise complaints listed here are due to newer plasterboard walls and lower-to-floor installations, with the walls acting as a sounding board and causing them to resonate. Hope this one lasts as long as the old one!
