Saves water
We bought this one year ago and are impressed with the amount of water saved compared to our old toilet.it fits into a smaller bathroom nicely.

Faulty Flushes
I got this Retrospect set for my guest bathroom and it never flushes right. Worst thing in the world for the Guest room! I have to leave a note on the top of the toilet instructing people to dump in a tall glass of water while flushing to get it to go down. We have replace the internal mechanism on several occasions and done all kinds of adjustments to no avail. In addition, the beautiful matching pedestal sink developed fine cracks in the glaze. I'm very disappointed, it was between this set & another brand's similar set and this one was the most elegant and space saving sink & toilet, now I question my choices. There weren't many reviews in 2005 or I would have reconsidered. My other American Standard basic right height, elongated bowl $200 toilet in the back bedroom works fine.

Does not flush anything
This toilet never flushed well, the toilet paper does not go down even after 3 flushes. Any floating #2 is there to stay. Urine only partially flushes so the water still looks murky and sediment from the urine settles into the bottom of the toilet and builds up a stain there that I can not remove. I have tried to fix the flushing mechanism several times, but it seems to be working as designed, it is just not designed well. The style is beautiful and looks great in my 1918 bathroom, until you open the lid and see the permanent stains.
