American Standard T184.740.002 Times Square 2-Handle Thermostat Trim Kit with Metal Lever Handles, Available in Various Colors

I bought these in 2016 and the temperature handle has broken 4 times. This is the most delicate temperature valve I've ever used. The inside of the handle is made of all plastic parts and breaks easily. A representative of American Standard actually said the temperature handle "should not be turned every day. That it is a one and done application. Turn it once to the desired temperature and then leave it. That's the point of the thermo handle. You don't need to constantly adjust". I do not constantly adjust this handle, bc it breaks so easily.. I do actually leave it set because of the last 3-times it broke. HOWEVER, for the price of this entire shower system I should be able to take a cold shower one day and a hot shower the next, or adjust my water temperature as I see fit. And anyone else who uses the shower should be able to adjust the water to their desired temperature without me having to watch over them. This is a terrible design. It's a good thing I don't have children using that shower; I would be replacing this every day! If the point of the thermo handle is to not adjust, then that should be in the instructions manual and in the description of the device. If you want to be able to use your shower at your personal desired temperature, then DO NOT Purchase this! Especially if you share the shower with anyone else, or children. Can't even imaging if I was renting the place. Do not buy this product. The parts are made cheap and I have no way of changing out the shower system unless I tear apart my entire shower again and re-do all the plumbing fixtures to a more reputable and consistent brand. It might look pretty, but it is not worth it! I actually purchased this valve thinking it would be easier to use and less likely to break since the shower controls and temperature controls were separate. Boy was that a huge mistake. Oh and it takes weeks to get in the replacement parts. So, be prepared to take super hot or Super cold showers until the parts come in; if this is your only shower.
