Very difficult to slide open and closed

It took me days to figure out how to open the cover to insert the blade (you slide it), but when I did so it wouldn't slide fully back, and now I can't get it on or off while there's a blade in it, so it's dangerous to work with something that requires some strength to push while there's an unprotected blade. Been a waste of time and money.
