Epson EcoTank Photo ET-8550 Wireless Wide-Format Color All-in-One Supertank Printer with Scanner, Copier, Ethernet

Of the printers I looked at, this was the lowest price range, with significantly cheaper ink than the alternatives. I wasn't expecting great quality, but was hoping it was 'good enough'. The quality is amazing, better than anything I have ever had professionally printed, ink doesn't go down too fast & the connection apps are pretty good. I have only used matte paper, so can't say for glossy but would assume similar results. Vibrant colours, dark blacks. Cons: - have to disconect/reconnect from wifi sometimes, when this happens it will try to start printing from a queue of random stuff that has already been printed. On a calibrated screen, the you will need to raise the shadows, and magents will shift slightly more to the red side. Easy to work around after a few test prints.

I had to dig around in the Epson site to find an alternative printer driver that had more features than the “Lite” version that is the default, but it was there and does exactly what I need.
