Pennington does it again
Well after great success with Cheyenne 2 in my hay fields I decided to give MaxQ a try in my cattle pastures. Note I'm in central Mississippi so that was definitely a questionable decision. To add to that, I planting in spring vs the recommended fall planting, didn't do the greatest job killing the existing Bahia grass, and went through the maybe worst drought ever in central Ms. Grass came up well but really took a beating having less than .2 inches rain from july12 through mid Nov. It looked dead and I believed it was definitely a failed experiment. HOWEVER.... With just a few light rains and cooler weather I have seen about a 90%recovery and now expect a full recovery soon. BTW....the cows prefer it over ryegrass. To summarize.....this grass has been testing to the extremes and is still going, can't wait to convert my next pasture.
