For the price, I have found the Brother, black, monochromatic print-scan-copy machine to be very dependable, nothing breaking or going wrong in the first Brother monochromatic I purchased some five years ago and still have, and now finding this second (and additional) one to so far be very dependable and easy to use. I don't have any need for a color printer because everything I do is related to my creative writing, just getting manuscripts printed out according to editorial requirements.

Good Quality, Useful Equipment

Works well and has an auto double-side capability, which I love. I read the reviews before buying, which complained of difficulty setting up the wifi capability. I wasn't deterred by this and ordered it anyway because the price was reasonable. After receiving it, I took my sweet time to set everything up and test every option and capability. I DID run into some difficulty setting up the wifi option, but it wasn't frustrating and I figured it out. In any event, I decided that to feel more secure, I always trust using the USB cable (not included - no big deal) more than wifi on any machine. But if I ever want to use the wifi instead of the USB cable, it's nice to know that I got it ready and it works. I am not computer savvy and I do not consider this machine to be complicated. I found it to be user-friendly. I think the price is good for a black-only laser printer. The quality of printing is great. I think the flat screen scanning glass is not necessary, but it's nice to know it's there. In fact, I didn't think I'd ever use it, but I already have. I have no regrets buying this machine and hope it lasts for a long time to come. My last black-only laser printer was an HP and only lasted 11.5 years. I absolutely loved it and was sad when it died, but now having this machine, I don't miss the old one.
