Overall decent fireplace with one pretty big flaw

There were a couple of things we were disappointed with in this fireplace. First, the back panel looks more dark gray than black so during the day it doesn't look dark like I would expect (or like I had seen in others). Second, the bottom panel was bent upwards when we received it. Also, the most annoying thing is that you can barely use the remote. You have to be in a certain spot/position to get it to work, which is extremely frustrating. We haven't had it long yet to know how well it really works but these are our first impressions. The one thing we did like, and why we chose this one (aside from it fit our space better) was the flames were brighter than the other one we were looking at. They weren't as realistic but they were brighter and more visible. I do also like the many options (e.g. color selections). They just really need to figure out how to get the remote to work from anywhere in the room. It is extremely frustrating to use.
