This is a nice looking lamp if you take the time to assemble it carefully. This lamp is very cheaply made - but also very functional and it looks fine despite the cheap construction. (not high end but fine) The assembly is awkward and would've been easier with an extra person. The metal and paint are very thin - if this lamp falls over, it will probably be visibly damaged/dented. It looks like you can adjust where the base cord comes out with a wrench - havejt tried it yet. You can set 2 of these up in a symmetrical/mirrored pattern. (the swivel has the proper range to allow it) The swivel joints are quite rough - but a couple drops of lubricant and working them back and forth got them moving pretty smoothly. The on/off knob has to be pushed in gently to work - possibly a design feature? The boxes both arrived in perfect condition - one lamp shade had a small dent from the factory. So quality control on these is potentially not great - hopefully my situation was a one off. Overall despite their imperfections these lamps are perfect for my needs. To get something with a similar look but better construction Id have to pay about double at Ikea.
