Great Grill.

Just got it assembled and in use about two weeks ago. I assembled myself (with help from a friend) and the assembly went fine. Full disclosure, the friend has a PhD in engineering and I've got two masters degrees so I was the assistant :-) It took several hours but we got everything done without any redos. It seems well designed, well manufactured (all the parts fit, holes lined up, etc) and good quality finish. All the stainless and painted parts were well protected from scratches, etc; no blemishes of any kind. The app was easy to download and connected to the grill easily and it all seems to work. I think the most impressive thing were the grill grates. I think you could drive a truck over them and they wouldn't bend; they weigh a ton and work great. Based on two weeks of use I'm 100% happy with my purchase. Yes, its a bit pricey, but I think I got my money's worth,

Great new smart Summit grill

I really like my new Summit Smart Gas Grill which replaced an 11 year old Summit that was still working but showing its age. The new Summit FS38X is very easy to use with automated ignition and electronic control of temperature. The included thermometers also work great and simplify determining when the meat has reached my desired doneness. The rotisserrie is conventionent and easy to use. And I like the ability to monitor and change temperatures from my phone. As a future improvement, I'd like to see automated temperature control expanded to cover Direct grilling below 400 degrees and Indirect grilling above 400 degrees. While I can adjust burners to get into these ranges, it would be nicer if the grill would do so automatically. (If I can adjust to get it in range, I think the grill could). Overall it's a great grill that takes a lot of the work out of grilling.

Announcing the New Summit FZ38X S Gas Grill

This is the second Summit I have purchased. The first was over 10 years ago, and everything still worked on it and it still looks great. We took it to our camp when I purchased the new. FS38X. I love the computer screen and the ease of operating the unit. I had it hardwired to our electrical panel and had an outlet installed underneath with a shut-off switch. I did not want the power to be going to the computer when it was not in use.
