Cover the entire affected area with a thin layer one to three times daily.
Because excessive drying of the skin may occur, start with one application daily, then gradually increase to two to three times daily if needed or as directed by a doctor.

I have suffered (literally) with blackheads since my pre-teen years. I'm approaching 70 years now. NOTHING has ever helped my blackhead issue successfully -- ever. Something has done that now. Is it perfect? Did it disappear my problem overnight? No. However, exactly as advertised, it brought deep, deep ones to the surface and they eventually were washed away. Does my problem still exist? Yes. Be that as it may, there is now a solution. One of the deterents listed by Neutragena was possible excessive drying of the skin. This has not happened to me - old lady that I am - and I use it twice per day.

Where was this stuff when I was a teenager
Have been using Neutrogena's Stubborn Blackhead serum for a year now. My problems started in my teens but the over-the-counter products just irritated my skin (I'm in my 60's now). Fast forward…times have changed and so have the products available for skin care. Thank you Neutrogena! I now use this serum a couple times a month to keep my issues under control. FYI…follow the directions! It can be drying on your skin and cause irritation, but if you use it as directed you'll be very pleased with the results.
