They are exceptionally quiet, operating at a sound level as low as 35 decibels (depending on model) and use very little energy. These weatherproof, thermally protected pumps have specially formulated material for their diaphragm. These series of air pumps are constructed for longevity. Models ET30 and ET40 come with a 3/8" ID brass fitting, while models ET60 and above each come with a 1/2" ID brass fitting.
