This is a sturdy little feeder that holds a generous amount of seed for its size. Birds took to it immediately with many species visiting, including chickadees, gold finches, hairy woodpeckers, blue jays, titmice, nuthatches and evening grosbeaks. I am very happy with my purchase.

Platform Feeder

I have had a traditional two sided feeder that I took down and replaced with this platform feeder. I had difficulty with the two sided feeder not being large enough to enable nuts and fruit to get through. These nuts and fruit are mostly in the waste free blends. But the waste free was wasted in the two sided feeder because it would go moldy. In the platform feeder I put a half a cup a day. It is eaten by nightfall and is truly no waste. I wish I had gotten the larger feeder.
