Zinfandel is a bold red varietal with origins in Croatia. We select ours from partner vineyards in California, and our winemaker chooses to handcraft it in the blanc de noir or "white of black" style which indicates a rosé-type wine created from a dark grape. This wine is a true pink color with a delightfully fruity bouquet of candied watermelon, strawberry, and dried papaya notes. Those opening scents are echoed in the palate of this medium-bodied rosé with off-dry flavors of cherry, lime, and mint. Good acidity and light sweetness make it a perfect pairing partner with spicy Thai food, blackened Mahi-mahi, and a bright summer salad of watermelon, mint, and feta cheese. For dessert, try it with a strawberry shortcake or cobbler. Sip it outside, at picnics, or liven up your next pitcher of strawberry sangria!
