Excellent Base

For a bakery cake use milk instead of water, and add one egg. For frosting beat one 8oz package of cool whip for 6min add one tablespoon of sugar & food coloring, then beat for another 2min. Best tasting cake for a couple of bucks..

Lemon heaven!

This was very nice, moist, fluffy lemon cake! Remember the Lemon Cooler cookies from the 80's? Use a lemon frosting and you got it! I poked holes into it and melted the frosting in microwave for 30 seconds and poured it into the holes. Now you have a wonderfully flavored lightly glazed lemon cake! You'll see the holes though...

Betty Croker cake mixes are the best

Betty Crocker Cake Mix does not have SUGAR as the first ingredient. Flour is first and sugar is second. Of the regular brands Betty Crocker is the only one I can find that sugar is not the FIRST ingredient. Before covid when I went to Trader Joe's they had cake mixes that were healthier. Until I can get back to Trander Joe's I will use Betty Croker for my cake mixes. I have been making dump cakes from The Cake Mix Doctor Cookbook that Walmart.com carries at a good price for new and they are quite good. If you get this book be sure and notice that this was when cake mixes were 18.25 oz. We must add 3 oz of flour to the cake mix for the cakes to turn out properly. You can also goggle this if you don't measure by weight for the cup measurement which I believe is 1/3-1/2 cup. Her receipes and frostings are quite good. https://www.walmart.com/search/?query=the%20cake%20doctor%20cookbook
