I am pretty sure this entire thing is made out of plastic. The wicker, and the glass. I do not think that is a bad thing, the slightly rubbery texture of the wicker makes me feel more confident, that it will not break if I accidentally bump into something or set it down too hard. I do think it looks convincingly genuine. I could not tell it was plastic until I touched it. It is quite tall and narow which limits the type of candle you can put in it, and the plastic makes me a little nervous near a flame, but I think it would work well as a vase.

Nice size, style and well made for the price. Mainstays Unscented Flameless LED Pillar Candle, Ivory, 3 x 8 in fits perfectly in this.
