Here's an honest review. The bookcase arrives in two boxes. One box contained the three shelves, top and bottom panels, hardware, and door handles. The largest and heaviest of the two boxes has the side panels, back board, and glass doors (assistance maybe needed). The bookcase is made of composite board and a thick veneer. The back panel is two cardboard pieces secured together with duct tape. Yep, duct tape. The assembly is simple, quick and easy (under an hour). Please don't assemble with 18V power tools. It's composite boad, not real wood. I used my Black %26 Decker 4V screwdriver. It has enough torque for this job. I invested in hex drill bits a while ago. European hinges can a headache when it come to alignment. However, my greatest concern was delivery. The heaviest box was dumped onto my front steps without care. Most noticeably, the box does not have any writing indicating glass items are inside after reading broken glass and/or damage parts were noted in several reviews. There was slight damage doing shipping/delivery. This buy was a convenience one over quality. Time was the essence because I have other major projects to tackle, so it saves me time to buy. For quality, I can build this same bookcase for about the same price tag or less. I am satisfied with this purchase. The walnut blends well with my wood finished decor in my home. It replaced another Better Homes and Garden bookshelf that I purchased over 20 years. I have purchased other furnishings that have lasted a very long time. This brand has a good standing with me. I plan to change back panel for real wood and door handles to match my personal style. Note: I am 55 years old female who assembled this project alone. I slid the heaviest box into my house. Again, it's just too heavy to lift and carry without assistance.
