Better Homes & Gardens Brand Matte Black Floor Lamp with Magazine Rack

I have always been pleased with Better Homes & Gardens products, and this lamp is no exception. This clean, contemporary floor lamp is perfect for my reading nook. It is sturdy and substantial without taking up a lot of floor space. I love the crisp white shade and the energy efficient LED bulb (included). I was concerned about assembling it myself, but I managed to put it together without any difficulty in about 30 minutes. The table top measures about 12.5 by 14 inches and sits about 24 inches from the floor, tucking just under the arm of my chair. The storage area measures about 5 by 12 inches by 12 inches high and easily holds several magazines, newspapers, or a few books. The lamp is 54" high overall, with a beautiful matte black finish and an attractive neutral wood finish table top. There is a floor switch along the cord, so you'll need to be able to access this to turn the lamp on and off, although you can also depress the button by hand if you prefer. My only complaint is that, while some of the assembly and safety stickers peeled off easily, a few did not, and I wish I had removed them before assembling the lamp.

I like how rustic and modern this Better Homes & Garden floor lamp looks. The instructions were simple and it took me about 10-15min to build. It comes with one lightbulb. The only way to turn on and off the lamp is the floor switch. For me I don’t think I’d purchase it due to that. If it had both options. I would definitely purchase it because I like the style of it. Which is no big deal for my younger daughter. I was thinking that lamps have come a long way. If someone were to have a disability and didn’t have use of their hands. This would make having a lamp to use easy for them. The lamps shade comes folded up and you snap it to these large rings for the top and bottom of the shade. Then it has Velcro that attaches it fully. You can’t even tell that’s how the lampshade comes. If you don’t like that. You can always purchase a different lamp shade that fits it. My child really likes it. She thinks it’s pretty cool because she can put her books she reads in the back instead of cluttering the top of her table. She also likes how it matches her black platform bed frame. It’s easy to keep clean and is simple and perfect for smaller areas. You could have your hands full and just turn the lamp on with your foot.
