The lights are nice. there is a selection of colors and speed at which they change. The drawback is that the remote has to be aimed directly at the receiver in order to work. if one of the wires from the light string is in front of the receiver, the remote will not work. I have not tried to see what the range is that the remote will not function, but judging from what i have experienced the range is not that far.
