Carpenter bees will usually head straight for old nests unless their previously dug bore-holes are sealed-up first using plugs like these corks. The corks are easy to insert with a small mallet, are readily stainable or paintable if you’re a perfectionist like me, and send any perplexed carpenter bees that arrive to the nearby trap I’ve installed and baited instead.

Need these if you have previous hole Burroughs. Carpenter bees will not use trap if their existing holes are open. Plug up all old holes and they will start using the traps.
