Berkley Vanish® Fluorocarbon Fishing Line, Clear, 6 lb Test Strength, 250 yd

For when I need a good jigging line, still fishing ( ice reels or crappie and panfish rigs), or I'm in clearer waters, and I need a line that won't hold memory as bad as mono, or twist up as bad as mono, I go with Berkley Vanish. I'm no fishing snob, by any means. I've been fishing for 50 plus years. Rivers, streams, lakes, ponds, and oceans. Now, normally, for these lighter applications, I will use a mono, color of my choice. But, for inline reels, like crappie reels, ice reels, jigging reels, and lightweight finesse baitcaster leaders, and even mainlines, I'll use Berkley Vanish clear fluoro. I don't need to break the bank to catch a fish. I've used Trilene Pro, Sufix, and Seaguar fluoro, and a few others sold to me by ambitious and obnoxious store clerks at fishing counters, and they have not performed so much different, better or worse, for the applications I use them for, that it warranted me spending the extra money. Just so happens, Walmart.com had this 6lb tesf in 250 yards at a really great online sale price, far better than in store price, and I just couldn't pass up the deal. Berkley Vanish in 6 lb also works great as leaders on braided lines in rocky areas and dock areas where you want a stronger main line but a fray resistant smalller leader that will tie easily to braid. I've lost count of the slabs I've caught on Berkley Vanish 6 lb. At the end of the day, fishing is supposed to be happy. Fishing is meditation. It is zen. You shouldn't have to go bankrupt to fish. You can listen to the pros who are paid to get you to take out a second mortgage on your house to pay for the most expensive gear they have to recommend, or you can fish with something you know works for a decent price. Low stretch, decent abrasion resistance, greaf knot retention, truly vanishes in the water, and breaks well above the line weight. No real cons.
